Art in the Halls at The Museum of the Shenandoah Valley
One of the most exciting benefits of membership is the opportunity to submit your work for inclusion in the Art in the Halls (AitH) program hosted at the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley (MSV). ShenArts has a juried show every year at this location, with open calls for art. As a member, you will never miss the opportunity to submit to the AitH program as all calls for art are included in our newsletter and on our website. These exhibitions run an average of two months and can be seen by a vast and varied audience as the MSV boasts around 90,000 visitors annually. Members also enjoy reduced submission fees to all ShenArts exhibitions, including AitH.
Community Member Benefits
ShenArts encompasses a variety of art forms, including visual arts, music, theater, dance, and literature. We provide platforms for local artists to showcase their work, enhancing the cultural fabric and enriching our community. Our membership includes community members who appreciate art and want to contribute to, experience, and encourage diverse cultural experiences in our area. Our events and programs bring people together, fostering a sense of belonging and community spirit. Festivals attract tourists, boosting the local economy, while youth engagement initiatives offer activities and programs that encourage creativity, critical thinking, and personal growth. Art, in all its forms, beautifies and sophisticates our community, making it a more vibrant and cohesive place to live.
The Shenandoah Arts Council (ShenArts) offers regional artists of all ages and skill levels the opportunity to exhibit their work through various partnership programs. These include collaborations with the MSV, Mosaic Church, the City of Winchester, the Barns of Rose Hill, and Navy Federal Credit Union. Members can participate in exhibitions such as Art in the Halls, the ArtScape banners in Old Town Winchester, the Veterans Art Exhibit, and Youth Art Month exhibits.

Joining ShenArts is a fantastic way to connect with the local arts community. Membership provides opportunities to engage, learn, teach, exhibit, and network with fellow artists or supportive community members. As a nonprofit organization, your membership fee directly supports the programming and events that keep our community vibrant and growing.
