Teen Art Club at the MSV

Teen Art Club is a monthly gathering for teenagers who are interested in exploring all things ART! Meetings include discussion of various art related topics, gallery walks, hands on projects, presentations from guest artists and plenty of time to ask questions about art. Participants are encouraged to suggest topics and bring their own work to share!

Held in collaboration with and at the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley (MSV) from 4:30-6:00 pm on 2nd Thursdays year round, Teen Art Club is led by MSV Youth & Family Programs Manager, Curry Schiavone and Rachel Smith, artist and Shenandoah Arts Council Program Director.

Curry Schiavone holds a B.A. in Art from the University of North Carolina in Asheville where his emphasis was on sculpture. Prior to joining the MSV staff, Schiavone was an elementary and middle school art teacher at the Powhatan School, and a substitute teacher for Winchester and Frederick County Public Schools.

Rachel Smith holds a BFA in Painting and Drawing from Brigham Young University. She is an active artist who has exhibited at over 70 shows in 14 states, and at local venues including the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley, Barns of Rose Hill, and Burwell-Morgan Mill. She works as a teaching artist and has been with the Shenandoah Arts Council since 2022.
